A Little Bit About Me...

I believe there are multiple learning styles. One of my goals as a teacher is to find each students' learning style and teach to fit their needs. I believe that practice makes perfect but also that learning needs to be fun. I set the bar high for my students and do my best to help motivate them to reach a high standard.
In college I was a nanny to three middle school students for two years. While being their nanny I was also their tutor in all subjects but focused on math. I graduated from SJSU with a major in History and a minor in Mathematics. I substitute taught in January and February 2007 then was a long-term substitute from March until the end of May in a sixth grade math, science, and history combination class. For the past two years I have taught eighth grade Algebra. While teaching I have also tutored a sixth grade student in math.

I am a CPA licensed in Arizona and California having worked with KPMG and local CPA firms. I am also a Certified Internal Auditor. My work experience has been as the Controller in turn-around situations, manufacturing, distribution and agriculture operations as well as small family operated construction and retail companies. I tutored College Algebra and Trigonometry to students at Arizona State University and taught and coached children swimming and diving teams. I also taught “Cash Flow Management” classes for the Arizona Society of Accountants as well as many other presentations (intro to 401k, safety programs, stock options, inventory procedures, etc.) in the companies where I have worked.
