I will graduate at the end of this month with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in English, having completed more than 90 credit hours in literature studies and 18 credit hours of creative writing. My teaching philosophy centers first, and foremost, on the task at hand: educating every student I service. It appears that for the sake of the school’s overall achievement level on state tests, students that require critical and extensive attention are being ignored for lack of time. Because it is assumed that these students will not pass the test regardless of the amount of effort invested in them, very little is invested in them and they are left far behind. My teaching style is to have a set of problems made up for the students to observe as examples to help understand certain chapters. I will assign additional problems if needed and focus on the subject matter that is the hardest for the individual to understand.
I have taken statistics and gotten an A in the course and still have all course materials to give a general overview of statistics and how to use SPSS. I am knowledgeable on the software and would be able to answer questions on statistics because of how well I did and how I used to help others who struggled with the class.
