Elementary is one of my top subjects! Was a Nanny for young children

While in College I was a part time nanny for a single Mom with twins. I started taking care of the twins when they were 2 and continued until they were almost 4. I was an assistant teacher part time at little playmates preschool daycare. During my time there I worked with the 2 and 3 year old class and the 4 and 5 year old class. I also helped the older children with homework. I was responsible for helping with meals, playtime and supervising outside activities. Although it took me 15 years to obtain my B.S. in Business Management, I do not view that as a disadvantage. My travels with my military husband enriched my education by enabling me to experience different cultures, and by giving me the opportunity to meet, live among, and work with people of many different backgrounds. I have worked in the Los Alamos school system for the last two years as a Special Education Instructional Assistant, grades 3 through 6, helping children with many types of learning challenges improve their reading, writing, spelling, math, and organizational and social skills. A Little Bit About Me...

I provide a rich, diverse, and creative set of skills and tools (for auditory, visual, and tactile/kinesthetic learners) to assist students, ages five to ten, in their reading, writing, math and social studies subjects.
I've provided tutoring for low-income students on a month-to-month basis around the Albuquerque area. My substitute teaching experience with Rio Rancho district has offered many opportunities for growth as a teacher in many different grade levels and settings. I have provided teaching support at one pre-school, six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school with coverage in most state-required subjects. I've also provided teaching support for eight charter schools around Albuquerque involving 'at-risk' children and youth, grades K-12. During college I worked for NMSU and CYFD providing two types of tutoring services. With NMSU I worked with fellow college students in classes that I previously passed, which mainly included Accounting and Math. With CYFD I worked with young mothers trying to obtaining their GED. I helped create good study habits and tutored them in all areas included in the GED; Social Studies, Math, Language Arts, and Science. While in college I took several communication classes which had presentations in front of 100 or more students. I took intermediate algebra along with statistics and business calculus.
