A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed English and Writing. I have kept a journal since I was in the 1st grade. I scored very high in these areas on my ACT's, as well as in all of my high school and college classes. I am enthusiastic, kind, positive and approachable. I passed my state boards on the first try because I feel I have excellent study skills. I enjoy working with people and find joy in helping others. I was a substitute teacher for a short period of time before taking a job as a counselor in 2004. In 2006 I moved to the Blue water area and have been employed as a medical social worker at a rehab and nursing center. I am looking for an opportunity to help others succeed in school and life.

A Little Bit About Me...

My personality lends itself nicely to the art of teaching, both adults and children. Thankfully, my educational and professional background supports my ability to tutor in all areas of elementary education, particularly Language Arts. A Little Bit About Me...

I began officially tutoring four years ago, starting up a private tutoring business. Through it, I have taught ages 5 through 55 in nearly all subjects, including mathematics, science, physics, ACT, and English. I also have tutored publicly at Oakland University for one year, where I earned my tutoring certification (level 1).
My passion is in watching others to succeed, and I am willing to change my own methods to make that happen. Thus, my tutoring style depends almost entirely on the student as I have found that the most common reason a tutor is needed is that the student's learning style does not match with the teacher's teaching style. I can tutor through examples, visually drawing concepts, talking, describing the reasons behind a concept, and most importantly, I can relate almost every subject to daily life.
