My personality lends itself nicely to the art of teaching, both adults and children. Thankfully, my educational and professional background supports my ability to tutor in all areas of elementary education, particularly Language Arts. I began officially tutoring four years ago, starting up a private tutoring business. Through it, I have taught ages 5 through 55 in nearly all subjects, including mathematics, science, physics, ACT, and English. I also have tutored publicly at Oakland University for one year, where I earned my tutoring certification (level 1).
My passion is in watching others to succeed, and I am willing to change my own methods to make that happen. Thus, my tutoring style depends almost entirely on the student as I have found that the most common reason a tutor is needed is that the student's learning style does not match with the teacher's teaching style. I can tutor through examples, visually drawing concepts, talking, describing the reasons behind a concept, and most importantly, I can relate almost every subject to daily life.

The one thing that I observed about the learning process, is that a person quickly grasps a concept if he/she is interested, or the topic is thoughtful and challenges the wit of a person and lastly, a person is very comfortable in learning through his/her friends. Nobody is stupid not to grasp a concept. It is the methodology, technique and feeling of comfort and interest, that is required. Hence I try to be affable and was more involved. A picturization or a real life example is more likely to fit in a person's mind. I used this technique and was very successful. With this regard, about 70% of my class scored 90% and above in their respective examinations.
