A Little Bit About Me...

I've been playing saxophone for 8 years. I am a student at the Kennesaw State University School of Music. I was a state finalist in the Governors Honors Program for Saxophone. I have been in the Georgia District 12 honor bands for four years. I have been a state finalist for the Georgia All-State Band and All-State Jazz Band. I also play at The Velvet Note jazz club on Thursday nights.

I am a recent graduate of kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I believe that I am competent in various areas of biology and chemistry, and will be able to convey that competence. I have taught and tutored at my church and in other volunteer programs since high school. I also currently give drum lessons at a Stephen's Music Company.
I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.

I feel that teaching will not only inform young minds to think differently or make them more motivated to learn. But to allow one to master his or her knowledge in general, teaching allows oneself to fully understand the subject in their own minds. Young minds such as children are easily impacted by an adult, which I feel that that should be influenced with positive, enjoyable learning. Allowing a young mind to like learning or studying will allow them to become very motivated individuals in life. I will only strive to make a positive difference in a child's life and let them enjoy the simple discoveries of learning.
