I interpreted for 6-8th graders at Hoover middle school for two years. I have interpreted at church now for the last 4 years. I have tutored one ASL student during their second semester at OSU. I tutored the middle school kids in math, art, english and science. I interact with many deaf friends frequently. Formal training has taught me that the more you converse using the language and not using your voice the more you retain and learn the language. I like to focus on one specfic aspect per session be it finger spelling or vocabulary or idioms, ETC. If the student has a test coming up we can chnage it up to focus on the topics of that test.
