I enjoy working with all children and getting to know them individually. As their teacher, I try to guide the students’ learning while focusing on their needs and goals. I am patient and respectful when I present new information to them and as we “work it out” together. I love working with children and adults of all ages. I have taught preschoolers and adults. I am patient and attend to the student's individual needs. No lesson is the same for any one student. My goal is to teach the subject material and also make the experience enjoyable. Music takes a lot of practice and repetition which brings about the foundation for quality music education.
I am a well qualified music teacher. My teaching experience has been in the classroom and privately. I earned my BA in music and was trained vocally for six years in sacred and secular styles of music. I also was trained for fourteen years in piano. More recently, I have taught piano and voice privately. I am experienced with the organ and saxaphone as well.

All through school I have had a passion for learning. This passion continued into college where I earned two degrees from Columbia College. While earning two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Dance and Religion, I have gained knowledge in critical thinking through applying learning to life, English and grammar through writing papers and reports, and many daily skills acquired through general education courses. I have been pursing my degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of South Carolina. I love working with children and students of all ages. I was a volunteer at Shriners Childrens Hospital for many years in the recreational therapy department. I was a "class teacher" at a friend's daycare part time, and I held a summer job as a lifeguard and swim instructor for many years. I find that when teaching something new or difficult, it is best to find a way it relates to each individual. Once you discover this, you can make it fun and relavent for them.
