I have worked as a pre-school teacher for two years in Syracuse, NY, where I was motivated to enter into the field of education on a permanent basis. I went back to school to attain my masters degree in education in 2008, and finished student teaching in December of 2009. I am accustomed to teaching children from various backgrounds, and learning styles. I am eager to initiate a career in education and serve the students in the greater Cortland county area. I finished my degree by going to summer and night school; I graduated in 1979. I was the first in my family to go to college and I am very proud of that. I have become a much better writer and am much more aware of grammar through writing reports, technical papers and SOPs. For a couple of years I volunteered for Literacy Volunteers because of my love of reading. I like working with children. They are so appreciative and excited when they learn and figure out a new word or anything. I am easy going and very supportive. GIven a good learning atmosphere, good support, encouragement and enthusiasm and children can learn. Everyone learns in different ways; in a one-on-one situation that can be discovered and lessons designed to best help the child.
