My comments on tutoring ACT : I would like to post the disclaimer that I have not taken the ACT myself - I'm an SAT child! However, in high school I did study extensively for both exams, and retain much of my knowledge about how this exam works. In tutoring for the ACT, I offer strategies for optimizing time management on the exam, and getting the most out of the questions posed. I have a degree in Psychology and another in Geomatics (Surveying and Mapping - heavy on mathematics) from the University of Florida. Honors High School Graduate with experience in teaching

My lessons can range from private lessons to group lessons of no more than five at one time. I prefer to be very involved in my students' progress, and will readily explain any questions that they do not understand. My main strategy is basically to lay out the concepts that will be covered that day, go over several practice problems, and give three or four practice problems for the students to work on independently. For art students, I will demonstrate with explanation the concept that we will be covering in that lesson (be it portraiture basics or still life basics), draw diagrams with the steps clearly labeled, and have the student independently work on a similar piece which applies the same concepts.
