A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught for a little over three years children with homework completing issue. In an effort to encourage students to use educational technology, I have successfully incorporated technology into my course design. One way is by teaching online classes. Portuguese is one of my top subjects! I am Brazilian and I lived in that country for 25 years. I have two B.A.'s made there and I have also worked and studied in different countries. I have an extensive international experience on teaching Portuguese language for foreigners in the five continents. I was the official Portuguese language teacher at the Universidad Nacional San Antonio Abad of Cusco, Peru. I use printed and digital material in my classes which are very effective, especially designed for Spanish and/or English speakers who want to learn Portuguese. 15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have a way of perceiving the difficulty the student has, and am able to explain the material in a simple way that makes it easy for students to grasp. I have a good rapport with my student and have had several that have told me that I am the best teacher they have ever had(which didn't hurt my ego!!) I also have a good sense of humor which puts students at ease- and it is proven that a tense mind can not learn, only when the student loses their anxiety over the material will they absorb it!

More About This Tutor...

During 2005-2007 I participated as a Dual Language Elementary teacher (Spanish-English) at Palm Beach County's School District, FL. I served as a second grade teacher for the first school year and as a fourth grade teacher for the second period. In this innovative program I was in charge of two different groups of children who were completely immersed in Spanish during half of the teaching contact hours. For the 2008-2009, I participated as a Dual Language Teacher (Math and Science). I worked concurrently for 5th and 6th graders at a Charter School in Colorado. Since 2010, I've been an independent Tutor under the No Child Left Behind act, serving students of Polk and Hillsborough Counties in Florida.
