I have a love for learning and helping others learn. I am currently in college to become an Elementary School teacher and I have really emphasized on math. I took honors math classes all through high school and I have enjoyed being able to study math and help others understand as well. I also have a love for piano. I am well studied in the classics and am willing to teach modern techniques as well.
I don't know if you could say that I have a "style" but I am all about seeing what they know first and giving them hints here and there so that they come to the understanding on their own and if it is needed I can show them how to do it and help them replicate it.

I've enjoyed working with children, a native American, and adults. Some can learn more than what is required and I have raised the bar. To prepare myself, I would review as necessary. I pay close attention to what is going on in the mind of the student and on student's paper, working on my paper in parallel, and making student corrections promptly. I like to give motivation and discuss, give insights and examples from my experience, and suggest better ways to solve a problem. I believe learning is an organic process involving physical changes to the brain. My tutoring style is based on three principles: patience, excitement for the subject and alternative explanations. Through my tutoring experience and having children of my own I have been able to develop the patience to allow students to work through problems and gain their own understanding even when the process is lengthy.
