As a graduate of Texas Southern University, where excellence is our motto, I was driven to acheive excellence in biology. I earned my BS in Biology in December of 2009, which has enabled me to gain understanding in science and math. I have also learned during my time at TSU to write and gain skills in writing due to writing lab reports and many essays along the way. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the key to academic success is ensuring the student feels a sense of accomplishment and pride in self. My method of teaching focuses on determining the best learning style and beginning with lessons that will bring about success, and then challenging the student gradually. I try to make learning fun, while encouraging questions and an "out-of-the-box" approach to problem solving. The ultimate goal is to develop an independent and motivated learner.
I currently work as a professional science/health writer, and I have a keen grasp of literature comprehension, grammar, and composition. I have tutored students in English, math, and science. Additionally, I have volunteered as a soccer coach, Sunday school teacher, and "Hands-On Science" instructor in the classroom. I previously taught private swimming lessons and piano lessons for children.
