My comments on tutoring Math : I have experience in STEAM where math was focused upon.

I use a combination of both online games and Websites and hands-on manipulatives. First, I like for the student to take multiple intelligence tests and then I know how best to help the student. The information I gain from the analysis is extremely informative. It tells me where the students' strengths lie such as some students are musically inclined, some are visual learners, auditory learners, some are mathematicians and various other styles. Then, the style that they learn through the best is how I would teach the student; this is based on Gardner's Multiple Intelligence. Second, meeting the standards are essential in today's education system. The four C's of the 21st century is also necessary for students' to learn. They are collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity.

My diverse academic career has provided me with a greater knowledge and understanding of Mathematics than many of my peers. I have taken numerous courses in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Exercise Science since I hold a B.S. in both Mathematics and Exercise Science. I believe that everyone is teachable, if the student has the desire and the teacher has the commitment. I tend to be a patient teacher, with high standards. I actively question the student, which allows me to challenge the student in my presence, where I am able to guide him/her.
