I want you to be successful in learning!

I have experience with teaching adults how to read at my local literacy organization. Also, I have tutored children with Reading and Math. I was a substitute teacher for students from Pre Kindergarten through High School with different subjects and disciplines. I can freely tutor others because of the experiences that I have had while earning my degrees. Helping others learn is a passion of mine.
My teaching style is mainly dependant on the person that I am tutoring. If a student needs to take a slower process to learn than I am adaptable to that. The same is true for someone who has a little faster pace. I am flexible.

I enjoy teaching very much. I think a strength trying to use a student's active content or prior knowledge to connect to material. My attempts are always to make the student feel empowered by the education process. If you can connect to way what they are into, either cartoons, hip-hop, popular culture, with conservative humor, then sometimes you can gain their understanding much quicker. I have more than nineteen years of professional communications experience in the public and private sectors, and have excellent verbal and written communications skills. I have been involved with tutoring and mentoring programs in the past, and have been a volunteer tutor at my daughter's school for 4 years.
