The City Pages chose me as it's 'Jazz Musician of The Year' in 2004 and I have been awarded McKnight and Jerome fellowships. I did not start playing the saxophone (my main instrument) until my 21st birthday. I then practiced a lot and have a very clear idea of how to learn and teach.

I will graduate from the College of Saint John’s University this spring with a major in English Education. Classes I have taken at CSB/SJU include extensive English and Education courses and a continuation of Spanish education. I worked as a paid English tutor during my 4-year college career through Upward Bound Tutoring program.
