My comments on tutoring Economics : I enjoy economics and took a number of courses in college and grade school. I have turored several students and we have worked through the problems.

I want my students to be able to make sense out of concepts. Once they relate to the topic the fundimentals of working with the concepts is more realistic. I general guide the student to help them develope the concepts.
I stated my career as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher in Oberlin Ohio. I taught two years at Beachwood High School, teaching algebra, geometry, physics and calculus. I went back to school to receive my masters in accounting. I work for a large public accounting firm and received by CPA license. From public accounting I started my internal audit career. I consulted many different companies in a variety of industries. I became a Certified Internal Auditor and became president of the local chapter. I believe that instructional strategies should be varied and flexible. Students are unique and their learning styles are different. Teachers need to have varied instructional strategies to try and meet the needs of the diversity of their students. I believe that knowledge of subject matter is extremely important, but not the sole component in instruction. In Mathematics, teachers need to have an understanding of mathematics as well as methods for transferring this knowledge to students. A Language Arts teacher may be knowledgeable about reading and writing, but has to find creative, interesting methods and activities to make students want to learn.
