I studied high school math at my own rate as suggested by a math teacher. Math was cool. Found my mothers high school algebra book and worked all problems cover to cover. During my BS, made top of the class in many of my math classes. Before returning to graduate school worked 7000+ problems to improve myself. Utah State University Math/Stat Graduate PhD Researcher of the Year 2009 with GPA 4.0 in MS and PhD. My tutoring experience began while a student at BYU with Mark D. from ages 8-10. At 10 he scored at high school level in math. Did many guest lectures at USU. In 2010 tutored my son at Weber State University. The Algebra 1 grade went from fail to B. He is doing B work in Algebra 2.

During my undergraduate education at the University of Utah I worked for Upward Bound and for Student Services as a tutor for both High School and College Students. During those three years I tutored all levels of Math as well as Physics, Chemistry and Engineering. I also taught ACT preparation courses. Since then I have tutored students on occasion from elementary age through undergraduate levels in both formal and informal settings. The reason I continue to tutor is the great enjoyment I get from helping someone achieve understanding that they were unable to obtain from their classroom or individual studies.
