I was not able to obtain a teaching job when I graduated from college so went to work in the field of business. My jobs included: private secretary to a County Judge, bookkeeper, loan processor for a savings and loan, receptionist, cashier, manager, assistant librarian and owner of an electric motor repair business. As a graduate from South Dakota State University, I received a liberal arts education where I majored in Political Science and Global Studies with focus areas of history and religion. I try to present a concept or fact in several different ways so that I can resonate with the students thinking style. I have been told that I am a very good communicator and educator and can make concepts that seem complicated look much simpler and more comprehendible. I really enjoy ideas. One of my favorite things is to see someone make a connection for the first time between two ideas or concepts. I enjoy teaching through dialogue and conversation.
