Hello, I’m an 11th grader at Montrose High School, Montrose, CO. I have never taught professionally, however, have frequently helped my peers solve lots of difficult problems and given a helping hand to my mentors in math. I have an A or A+ in all my classes at school with A+ in Trig Pre Calc which I’m taking this year. I have also been recommended for AP Calculus and AP Statistics by my mentors for grade 12. I’m preparing for my SATs and have been scoring 1500+ in mock test with 780 in Math. I have a great experience with being around elementary school kids since I have volunteered at several places which includes these children. While working on my BS in Psychology I worked part time as a respite provider for children with brain, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Though I focused more on teaching social skills, I learned first hand that each child has a different way of learning and that not just one style is effective, especially for any special needs child. In addition to remaining patient throughout the learning process, I would strive to find whatever style of learning is most successful with each child's needs.

I love tutoring because it gives me the ablility to individualize each students program so it fits their learning style. If a students doesn't understand a concept when I explain it, I use other ways (other explanations and manipulatives) to help the student understand. I am patient and understand each student is unique and their program should be unique to them.
I graduated from Ball State University with a major in Elementary Education. I love working with the younger students in a classroom setting but realized I missed working with older students. I started tutoring at Sylvan at the high school level in math. After a year I became the Assistant Director of Education and comtinued to tutor in the evenings. This allowed me to create programs specific to each student. I tutored all subjects but enjoy working with high school algebra and geometry students the most.
