I would not have a problem with Online classes. But if the student would want to meet and work together I would be more than happy to study at a cafe. Usually I’ll first ask what the child himself knows about the topic and then i would work to getting in cleared in her or his mind. I’ll have a lot of questions ready for the child to solve and practice. The student will also have regular tests if the parent wants them to continue learning with me.

If a students doesn't understand a concept when I explain it, I use other ways (other explanations and manipulatives) to help the student understand. I am patient and understand each student is unique and their program should be unique to them.
I graduated from Ball State University with a major in Elementary Education. I love working with the younger students in a classroom setting but realized I missed working with older students. While I was going to Butler County Community College I peer tutored students in both mathematics thru calculus II and english composition I and II. My trigonometry teacher had me substitute teach his college algebra and trigonometry courses for him while he away. This was some of the most satisfying work I have ever done. When a student finally understood what I was explaining it was like you could see the light come on in their head. Not only did I help the student learn the topic but it made me feel good because I had helped them.
