My teaching style is direct, engaging, challenging, and encouraging. My approach to instructing and enabling each individual is different. It develops as I continue to learn about the individual's own learning style and how the individual responds to different teaching styles. I believe that a child learns best when she makes the discovery, realization, or solves the problem herself. I therefore strive to enable the learner through the deduced means that the particular circumstance dictates. I strive to help the learner succeed and thereafter congratulate & continue to challenge.
My experience with tutoring ranges from being tutored in middle school at Sylvan Learning Center (due to not being challenged enough in my private school classroom) to tutoring fellow classmates and my friends' younger siblings in a range of subjects during high school and college. I am an experienced classroom teacher (3rd/4th LA City Schools and Casablanca, Morocco) as well as music specialist (LA City Schools) and piano teacher (California/Colorado). I also have solid work experience as an administrative assistant with Hewlett-Packard and later as an Information Technology II employee at Colorado State University. In 2004, I was chosen Teacher-of The-Year by my colleagues and students. I am proficient in teaching job skills, study skills, as well as college preparation exams. I have served on the school district's curriculum review board, Faculty Advisory Board and am a member of the Society of CPA's.
