My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : Having taught math at every level from K-5th grade, I have been aware of the Common Core State Standards in math.

Over 16 years, I have taught various subjects for students with hearing impairments. I also have experience in teaching students with multiple disabilities as well. I have had experience in teaching an after school program with students who needed assistance in learning. In addition, I have taught American Sign Language classes to parents. I have experience in teaching students, ages 7-21.
I teach with a hands-on style. I incorporate various strategies based on the student's needs such as kinesthetic, visual, auditory, and a combination if needed. I observe and I assess student's strengths and weaknesses. Based on the information and results, I determine the correct strategy to use to help a student.

I was employed with Orion's Mind LLC as a tutor for the SES prep classes. I taught six grade pupils. I used a pod system to instruct the students on the required subject matter. I tutored in math, science and reading. I completed the Orion's Mind internal training sessions for instructor and lead instructor. I completed my background test and required pre-employment criteria.
I enjoyed seeing the children learn and show pride in their accomplishments. I loved helping these children grow and improve their test scores. I graduated from Illinois State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, and a friend recommended me for an assistant job within a special education cooperative. I accepted the position and continued doing this for five years. The time I spent doing this career is what ultimately made me realize my love for teaching children.
