I tutored elementary students at Bennett Elementary School in Fargo for a year, helping them with reading skills and work. I try to utilize many different styles of teaching methods as everybody learns information differently. I believe that one will learn more quickly if they are able to do the task themselves rather then watch the task be done. I also believe that we all learn through our own mistakes much faster then trying to learn from anothers mistake. When I began my college education I declared pre-med as my course of study. Unfortunately, since I had to work to put myself through school, I became burned out my the countless hours of work. When I was no longer having fun in school, I decided to switch majors and declared History. History can be very interesting coursework and also allowed flexibility in further education if I decided to persure more higher education.

I believe in hands on learning and demonstrations to learn scientific concepts. Mathematical work requires repetition and understanding of equations to obtain a concrete understanding of the material. I believe that every student has their own way to learn material and I design lessons to appeal to multiple types of people. I am an MSUM graduate Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Earth Science Teaching. Throughout my college career to obtain my science teaching license, I have had multiple field experiences teaching classes and tutoring individual students in the field of science.
