My comments on tutoring Language Arts : Qualified in this subject by WyzAnt. For a six month period I worked with the Department of World Languages at Essex Junction High School as full time substitute teaching English, Latin, French, Spanish and German.

For the greater part of my life I have been involved in various facets of education. I have acted as substitute teacher at the middle and high school levels for a total of 10 years, 8 of which were spent at 12 schools in Vermont and 2 at 10 schools in Hernando County FL. I held the position of Senior ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) with a highly reputed language school in Vienna, Austria for a period of 2 years and have offered ESOL instruction as a volunteer teacher at the Tarpon Springs campus of St. Petersburg College and with the Hernando County branches of H.E.A.R.T. and R.S.V.P. To Help Your Child Succeed At Advancing In English Studies

I was an elementary education major for 2.5 years before following my specific passion to writing and literature in my Junior year to finish up school. I graduated with a 3.35 QPA from Slippery Rock University in May of 2015! I have completed reading instructional courses in K-6th elementary education as well as courses in literature and reading assessment. I also have experience working with many high-and-low-incidence disabilities such as children who are deaf or blind, have Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, or Aspberger's disorders as well.
Hands-on. We all learn more when we experience new things, and get to try them ourselves. Children are more engaged when there is something for the them to do to interact with the materials provided.

I prefer to teach in a hands on fashion, but the most important aspect of my style is to adjust my methods to meet the needs of the student. I incorporate study and test taking skills into most tutoring sessions and specialize in tips and tricks for areas of difficulty.
