I have earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education and a master's degree in teaching with an emphasis in learning disabilities. I have taught secondary special education for 5 years, focusing on math, reading, and writing. I have also privately tutored students of all ages and abilities in math, reading, and writing. I am a highly qualified special education teacher, with an endorsement in language arts. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 2008. My experience with tutoring and teaching learning disabled and other students with and without special needs includes: student teaching (1st, 3rd, 9th-11th Algebra and Study Skills), privately tutoring a friend's special needs son, and employment with Hampton City Schools as a fifth grade special education teacher. I feel confident that my methods and techniques for teaching concepts to struggling learners is effective, and have found that to be true in all of my varied experiences in teaching and tutoring.
