A Little Bit About Me...

I have seven years of experience teaching general education in elementary schools, with one year of experience in 4th grade, two years in 3rd grade, and four years in 2nd grade. I have worked with children with special needs including autism, ADD/ADHD, and dyslexia. I recently completed my Masters in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism Intervention, along with a Behavior Analysis certification, at the University of North Texas. I will be starting a job in Round Rock in June as a behavior specialist working one on one with individuals with autism.
Each child is different and has their own unique set of skills that they bring to the table. You have to find what that child's strength is - and use it to help that child grow in other areas. As a graduate of Southwestern University with a Bachelor in English and Communications, I was drawn to the field of education. I come from a family of teachers. After earning a post-baccalaureate certification in Secondary Education with a focus on English/Language Arts, I taught for a couple years and wanted to expand my teaching to younger students as well.
