I have currently worked at the Herkimer ARC for the past eight years. I have alot of experience working with people with disabilites from severe Mental Retardation, Cerebal Palsy,Autism, Learning Disability and Mental Heath. I have obtained a degree from Herkimer College in applied science with a minor in education. I also went to Mohawk Valley Community College for two years to obtain a degree in Nursing. I am a very caring open individual who loves to help people. I am looking for part time employment to start a college fun for my three year old daughter. I have years of experience training new employess at the Herkimer ARC.
I am a hands on teacher. I can verbally explain things and then i like to utilize different techniques to ensure the children understand what i am explaning. I am opening to different teaching styles because each child learns differently.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have quite alot of experience in the filed of education. I was very driven to attain my degree and I also attained a minor in Psychology. I earned an Associates degree in Human Services, and a BS degree in the field of Special Education with a minor in Psychology. It was in the area of Special Education that I was able to broaden that degree to help a larger spectrum of children. I have tutored children with learing disabilities in the area of reading and writing. I have also had the oppurtunity to work with an agency in the area of Social Work. I graduated high school in 2000 with a local diploma and then went on to college at Utica School of Commerce. I graduated in 2002 with an Associated Degree as an Administrative Specialist. I have worked at a few different jobs and just went back to college again at Utica School of Commerce and got my certificate degree as a Medical Office Assistant.
When helping others, I do it two ways. I tell them how to do it and guide them through it. Other times, I show them how to do it. However, I do not do it for them. I would love to have the chance to help children succeed in their education! It would be an honor!

Through the years, I have learned how important language and english is in our community; in result, I have a bachelors degree in Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences.
