Whatever material you would like me to cover please let me know in advance so that I can review the section. In math and science I try to provide a practical explanation for why the material is important and interesting as well as teach any tips and tricks that I've learned.
I'm a 2nd year Electrical and Computer Engineering Student at Michigan Technological University. I've taken everything from Calculus 2 and Differential Equations on down with only Calc 3 left to go for math. For High School I went to Holland High School and graduated with a 4.05 GPA (weighted based on AP classes). I've been involved in FIRST Robotics, Dutch Football and a few other activities.

A Little Bit About Me...

I recalled my difficulties in learning difficult subjects, my difficulties are not universal but I draw from them in finding what is blocking the student from grasping certain concepts. I recall teaching my children at a very early age the concept of ratios. I used windows, tiles from the kitchen, a pizza pie etc. This, before going to pencil and paper and it worked. Till this day they know fractions inside and out because they understood the concept in real life. This is typically my approach, then we can go and do problems in the abstract on paper.

I try to make the subjects fun for them. For example i bring out cubes, candy, or fruits for math problems so they can visually see the mathamatical problem. If its science I try to make 3D projects so they can better understand, for example the solar system. I was a Missionary in Panama for fourteen years. Learned Spanish through a two-year course in the country. As a missionary, I went on to teach Literacy and Bible to indigenous peoples there. After coming home stateside, although not certified, I earned extra income by giving classes in English to Hispanics in my home.
