I love to work with children. I went into the field of education because I feel all children deserve the right to learn, even if it is at a different level, or slower pace then other children. I am a very patient person, and love to see a child when they discover that they were successful at learning. I feel that I am a very creative person, allowing learning to take place at all levels. I feel learning should be fun, and if a child has fun learning they will retain what they learn and progress up the ladder to become a successful learner.
I have quite alot of experience in the filed of education. I was very driven to attain my degree and I also attained a minor in Psychology. All children are students; they can learn. The question is how best do they learn? I have used many differing styles from rote memorization through self-paced self-education. I encourage students to see the wonder and "mystery" (there really isn't any mystery) of Math, regardless of the level, in the real world. To that aid, I try to present real world problems at levels the student can understand. For lower level students, I investigate with them the development of the linear equations involved in setting up a relationship between two factors. A higher level student would solve multiple linear equations. A height vs. time linear relationship then can become quadratic, thus involving sports as an application.
