I have been teaching in the elementary and middle school classrooms for 13 years. I have worked as an after school tutor during many school years with 5-12 graders. In addition to the tutoring, I also directed an after school gifted and talented program where students engineered, designed, and created new inventions. I was a counselor at Camp Invention during the year 2011 which was another opportunity to engage students in learning outside of the classroom. I have been the director of Spring Break school in urban Kansas City which was an intensive tutoring program for students.

I came to teaching as a second career when I realized I was not happy in local politics. I earned a degree in Secondary Education with English certification grades 5-12. Spanish and teaching have always been passions of mine that I have been fortunate enough to make a career out of doing and using both.
