Teaching is just a love for sharing the quest for knowledge

Laid back. I like to discover with the student, teaching them how to teach themselves in a way. My learning style, and therefore my teaching style, has always been to break a lesson down to its simplest form, and tweaking it to fit various situations. This way, the lesson is easier to remember, like learning to ride a bike.
I am currently a returning student at Arkansas State University, majoring in Computer Science, and minoring in Math and Graphic Design. I previously attended Arkansas Tech University, but withdrew due to financial reasons. In 2005, I became employed at Mid-South Community College, where my duties included helping students with computer questions and issues, as well as tutoring a few students in math. During my employment there, I taught a 5-week Intro to Computers course. The class consisted of a mix of traditional and non-traditional students.

As I graduated with an honors bachelor’s degree in Biology, I started working at my university as an academic tutor. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a bi-linual tutor. I have worked for the migrant education program in the federal programs department of the Jonesboro Public School district since August of 2008. Before that I taught ELL courses for Brookland Public Schools. I was adult education tutor for student support services at Arkansas State University and East Arkansas Community College. I have taught two Spanish Courses to high school students for the Arkansas Upward Bound program.
My style of teaching is very associative. I like to take any material that my student is trying to learn and present it in a way they can relate to, or may apply to them directly. We are required to complete 17 hours of education each year relating to the laws and regulations for the services of the disabled as well as specifically for individual diagnosis. A Little Bit About Me...

I attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. In my course of pursuing my Engineering degree, I minored in math where I became versed in Engineering math such as Calculus I-III, Analytic Geometry, Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra I & II, probability and statistics to name a few.
