Literature is one of my top subjects! Masters Degree in English and American Literature from the University of California, San Diego. MA thesis concentrated on themes found in Victorian novels. While an undergrad, I studied at Oxford University in England where I focused on Medieval and Renaissance texts. Years later, I was able to do post graduate coursework in 17C literature and the Romantics at Harvard University Extentsion. Extremely well read in a broad range of literature but primarily focused on Western Literatures. Extensive hands-on classroom instuction with first year college students, would be suitable for junior and senior high school instruction as well.

I have a B.A. in English and History from Marquette University in Miwaukee, Wisconsin. I believe in studying those subjects which are of greatest interest to me, and I have always had a strong passion for literature as an expression of who we are in this world and who we want to be. My comments on tutoring Literature : I'm very familiar and experienced with British Literature, not so much American Lit. I do know some American Literature authors.

I'm patient. I'll try and make my lessons easy to understand. I know how frustrating language arts can be, but I also know how rewarding it can be as well. I can relate very easily to high school students, because I just graduated from high school 5 years ago.
I started tutoring in 2009 through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. I tutor my "Little" for an hour once a week. I help with whatever subject they need. My specialty is Language Arts, but if you need help with basic math, I can do that too. I have observed many elementary, middle school, and high school classes. I started working at JCPS as a substitute teacher in 2000 at a high-at-risk high school. I then becamse an Instructional Assistant III and was accepted into an accelerated program with JCPS and Ky. State University to complete the program in two years for my certification. I have taught at an at risk middle school for two years, and high school for the past six.
