Science is so cool to me, especially seeing all the strange ways the world does things when you know how it works. I have worked on numerous teaching in science colloquium, made laser light shows for kids to talk about lasers, and developed specialized science intro courses for college freshmen at wvu.
I like to stay relaxed and have fun, telling a few jokes along the way. It's hard to learn things if you're not interested, and even more so if you're struggling with it! I push students a bit once I'm sure they understand something, and I always try to get them to be at their very best.

I'm a recent graduate of the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and a minor in Pure Mathematics. I feel comfortable tutoring both high school and college mathematics and physics. I have experience tutoring 2 students at the middle-school level, and I have also taught swim lessons (references available upon request).
I like to get the student engaged and make as much of the session as possible into a quiz for the student: I like to use flashcards and I have no problem spending unpaid time outside of the session producing learning materials for the session. I like to build the subject matter up from elementary examples to more thorough applications, and I like to do this by getting the student actively engaged in problem solving during the entire session.
