A Little Bit About Me...

I teach from the known to the unknown (i.e. taking a concept that is already known, or an everyday activity, and relating it to new concepts. I vary the teaching style to maintain the interest of the student. I use questions and answers, telling, demonstrating, or having students try experiments themselves. I can tutor both face-to-face or online using e-mail or blackboard, video, etc.
I have taught chemistry at the high school, community college, and university levels. I can also teach math at the high school level or lower. I have taught students of diverse races, ages genders and nationalities. I have taught during the day, evenings, and week-ends. Most of my working life has been about teaching. I usually spend the first session finding a child's weaknesses in the subject. After this, I will prepare a list of problems for the child to work on under my supervision. As he works I will let him make his mistakes and then help him correct them. This, in my opinion, is the greatest way to learn math. Practice makes perfect.
As I finished up my studies, started tutoring for lower level math majors. This included Calculus I,II,III, and statistics. As I moved on through classes, I began teaching more abstract classes in Mathematical theory. This experience has helped me able to explain a complex topic in simple terms.
