I believe each child has their own learning style. Through a variety of approaches and materials each child can find success in reading and math in their elementary school years. I enjoy finding each child's path to success.
I have taught Special Education for 26 years and third grade for 6. I have tutored using the Reading Assist program and various other methods for reading. I also have many techniques for teaching math to young learners. I enjoy working with children one on one or in small groups. I have always wanted to teach. When I was a child I would round up the kids in my neighborhood and make them do lessons that I created. I do remember they did not like that. I went to college and earned a BS in Biology always knowing that I would eventually teach the sciences. I was an excellent student and have always found pride in myself on my ability to communicate with clearity. I have one year of tutoring experience at the k-12 level. Attaining a degree in the sciences has helped me to develop key writing as well as key listening skills. I am very capable of tutoring in most subjects.
