My comments on tutoring Spanish : I am not a native Spanish speaker, but I have been learning the language for many years, and I have a minor in it. I can help most with grammar, vocabulary,and reading.

I graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in English Literary and Cultural Studies and a minor in Spanish. I have taught ESL conversation classes for almost three years now, and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (also at OU). Spanish is one of my top subjects!

Throw out my high school year I was in a program called “Learn and Serve”. This program consisted of going to the closest elementary school for an hour a day and be a teachers aid. Therefor, I help any student who was having difficulties. In some cases would even help teach a lesson if the only adult in the room was a sub teacher.
I find diffrent ways to help children understand what they are learning in a fun way.

Spanish is one of my top subjects! I am continuously complimented on my Spanish skills by people with Spanish as their first language. I learned Spanish through living with a family of Mexican heritage, through my personal relationships in our local Hispanic community, 3 years of High School Spanish, working at The Latino Community Development Center, and several trips to Mexico. I have been told that I have teaching techniques for difficult Spanish pronunciations, that help the student pronunciations Spanish vocabulary with greater ease.

In 1994 my family and I move to San Jose, Costa Rica to begin studing Spanish at the Spanish Language Training Institute called, CINCEL, in San Jose, Costa Rica. We spent a year of intensive liguistics training which enabled us to start teaching in Spanish the following year. We ended up spending the next 10 years teach in 3 different countries in Central America. Upon returning to the states I became the High School Spanish teacher at Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond, OK. While studying at the University of Oklahoma, I became interested in tutoring and helping those less fortunate. I began tutoring at a program called Tuesday Tutors which provides free-of-charge tutoring to all students Junior High level and above (although we often helped out Elementary students who stopped by).
