I am a visual learner, and so my first approach to teaching is using visual aids. I usually draw, use diagrams, or try to paint a mental picture for my students of what I'm trying to teach them. I find teaching very rewarding and uplifting. I love the field of microbiology and it shines through my teaching. When you work with a student and you can actually see the light bulb go off in their head- wow!
