I am currently in my 4th year of medical school and completed my undergraduate education at the University of California Berkeley where I received a bachelors in both Biology and Education. I tutored a fourth grader for one school year. I have also tutored at a tutoring center and worked with kindergarten children. Unfortunately I was only there for one month due to scheduling issues with my college classes. I do volunteer with the nursery and young children at my church from time to time and I have experience teaching kids from preschool all the way up to sixth grade (due to volunteering at church).
I'm fairly laid back. I try to get to know the student first and see how they do with their work on their own and of course helping them out when needed. Occasionally, I'll give my own tests to see how well their test taking skills are and how they do under pressure. Learning is not optional. Remember...

Elementary is one of my top subjects! I have taught elementary school children grades kindergarten through fifth grade for three years overseas and have tutored for four years. I was the head kindergarten teacher, phonics and reading teacher for two years. I oversaw the other kinder teachers as well as conducting events and curriculum for each semester. I have taught phonics, reading, vocabulary, math and social studies.

I am a very outgoing and energetic but patient teacher. I will often push my student beyond what they believe they are capable of. For example, my lowest kindergarten class by the end of the fourth semester was reading second grade level books and worksheets. My second grade level students were reading by the end of the second semester fourth to sixth grade reads. I will never encourage failure out of a student nor will I tolerate the child to feel they are not smart.
