I am passionate about my subject area, English, and endeavor constantly to share my love of literature and writing with my students, and to inspire within in them a life-long reverence for literature. . I encourage and support each and every student to work toward the achievement of their highest potential. I earned my degrees in education from Ball State University. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement, M.A.E. degree, and a Master of Arts degree in Special Education with minors in the following: Learning Disabilities, Mildly Mentally Handicapped, Seriously Emotionally Handicapped. I have taught at the elementary level in both general education classes and special education classes and at the high school level in special education classes.
I enjoy teaching and find it very rewarding. I believe that all children can learn and it is the teacher's role to find the learning style of his or her students and to plan lessons and activities to meet their needs. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Purdue University with a focus on Modern English Literature. I have also spent several years as a full-time substitute teacher for a number of Northwest Indiana city school systems including Portage, Westville, Michigan City, LaPorte, and Valparaiso. During my teaching career, several teachers were happy to request and recommend my services for long term teaching assignments, including a four month assignment to a sixth grade Language Arts class for Michigan City Public Schools. Also, my services at Valparaiso Community Schools were respected enough to earn me a spot as an in-home instructor for two students considered too ill to attend classes.
