My comments on tutoring Algebra : I can teach all HS level and under mathematics.

Obtuse; willing to think outside of the box to get the student interested, even, excited to learn.
I have tutored fellow classmates in HS. I've taught my nieces and nephew to understand and love mathematics, as well as respect science, which is really just the real-world application of mathematics. As I streamlined accounting processes for the businesses I worked for, I wrote procedures and trained personnel on every level across every department both in the U.S., Singapore and China. I tutored my children in math due to the inept teachers in the public school system---up through algebra one. I have worked one on one with students in reading, english, memorization, study habits and math up through 7th grade.

For 1:1 tutoring my teaching style will vary depending on the individual's needs and the topic covered. I try to work at the student’s learning pace in an effort to allow the student time to comprehend and retain what is covered within the session. I am not interested in helping others learn what I know (and love) to find out later that I was "too fast" for them to use the information after the session.
