I believe that in order to truly learn a language you must practice and be thrown into the language. I adjust my teaching style based on your level. If someone is more advanced in the language, I may do completely voice off in order to insure the signing is the most accurate. I am willing (if student wants) to occasionally have our meetings at Deaf events to gain more practice. For beginners I will start from the basics and work our way up. I have been teaching a brick and mortar university for a year and am now engaging teach at an online university. I enjoy the challenge of learning how people learn and teaching them something about their learning. It is extremely gratifying to watch people bloom academically.
