During my collegiate years, I learned that experience was just as important as obtaining my degree. Therefore, I worked during my college years in a school offering mentoring for young children. For the last two years, I have worked for a young adult mentoring program called Project Respect. I work as a classroom facilitator. My BA in Communications offers me experience in writing research papers, essays, preparing and delivering speeches, and developing creative case studies. Although, I have never been in charge of my own class room I consider my teaching style energetic. I love working with students of all ages and find that teaching methods and styles tend to adapt to those individual students. I think it is important to be encouraging and patient with all students. I believe in a hand on approach where students learn from experiences and doing rather than being lectured. As an educator it is my job to get students involved in their own learning and excited about the knowledge that will shape their futures. As a journalist, I value communication skills. I have 4 years of professional experience in the fields of marketing, public relations and communications. I love sharing my love of the English language with others. Last school year I tutored a kindergartener in reading and vocabulary.
