My comments on tutoring Physics : As part of my Science curriculum.

My method of tutoring is to work with students where they are and add to their skills, to accomplish the final outcome, preferably an "A" or "B." Some students are visual learners and some are informational learners, or some students combine the two. The potential I see in students is what I try to bring out and have them realize they are capable of going a step further, to reach their goal. The importance of education and the students' continuance of same cannot be stressed enough.
I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. I continued tutoring young students and adults in the 1990's, tutoring Basic Math, Basic and Intermediate Algebra, Basic Geometry, English Composition, Speech, Study Skills and the Sciences. My comments on tutoring Physics : Both calculus-based and algebra-based physics.

I like to work one on one with students in a neutral location. Small groups are not out of the question however.
When I was studying engineering at University of Michigan, I took a job as a tutor at Washtenaw Community College. This was the most rewarding job I ever had. Since about the year 2000, I have been working as a freelance tutor in the subjects of math, chemistry and physics. I also tutor students in engineering courses. I generally work with college students or upper-class high school students. Normally I work in the Brighton/Howell Michigan area. I meet most students at a public library or coffee shop. My average rate is $50 per hour. This can be negotiated, however. I like to take the students ability to pay into consideration and will charge less per hour if advanced payment can be arranged.
