My comments on tutoring Microsoft Access : Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. I have worked with Access for 20 years from from older versions to 2010 version.

I believe the best way to learn is hands on experience. If I don't find one way to help the student understand I will do my best to try another approach. I have 3 kids under 10, so I am patient with small children, but I expect them to be focused.
Worked about the last 20 years in the actuarial field (short stint away to get my degree), which involves data analysis in excel and access and some programming. I received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in statistics in December of 1998. While in school I graded lower division math papers for my teachers, I taught a basic programming language as well as ran a classroom for a virtual teacher (video taped class)

I have been a straight-A student my entire life and I recently graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a 4.0 GPA. A Little Bit About Me...

As a visual learner and instructor, I believe the best way for children to retain information is by breaking down the task itself and visualizing it in stages/phases. Often times children feel overwhelmed by the countless lessons taught inside the classroom, resulting in defeated attitudes and poor grades. Persistent and patience with the student, foundation first for the material. . Especially with math, higher concepts won't be "grasped" unless the lower ones are mastered. Also, I find that doing any math at all for most people improves grasps on new concepts, so I'm never afraid to take a step backward if it means 2 or 3 steps forward. I also teach and encourage liberal use of Logic in problem solving. All of math is simply problem solving, and teaching good thought processes through meta-cognition and careful phrasing goes a long way. I believe that everyone can do math, and concentrating on how the mind can logically arrive at mathematical conclusions makes math a discovery rather than an exercise in learning a foreign language.
