My comments on tutoring Logic : Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Logic was one of my easier subjects.

Worked about the last 20 years in the actuarial field (short stint away to get my degree), which involves data analysis in excel and access and some programming. I received my bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in statistics in December of 1998. While in school I graded lower division math papers for my teachers, I taught a basic programming language as well as ran a classroom for a virtual teacher (video taped class)
I believe the best way to learn is hands on experience. If I don't find one way to help the student understand I will do my best to try another approach. I have 3 kids under 10, so I am patient with small children, but I expect them to be focused.

In college I majored in psychology (BA University of Missouri), and then statistics (MA University of Missouri, PhD Carnegie Mellon University). While at the community college, I administered practice test for students in MESA in mathematics (Calculus 1,2,3, and 4) while also working the maximum of 20 hours a week in the campus math lab (walk-in tutoring). At UCR, I was a "drop-in" tutor. This means that for hours of the day in a room with 6 chalkboards, I would teach math to any UCR student who wanted to learn and answer their questions. There was hardly any down time at all; I was constantly working. I had a team of tutors that I first worked with, then managed as a mentor in my last year. As a Mentor, I kept the team's understanding of the curriculum solid as a group effort. The mentors and the tutoring program coordinator held weekly meetings with regards to our various tutoring teams.
