I graduated from UCF with a Bachelors in Communicative Disorders (speech therapy). I love english and science and found this to be a perfect mix. I worked with children with language delays in group settings and also tutored children individually. I am currently in the process of obtaining my teaching certificate in science and working towards my masters degree.
I prefer to work with children who have learning disabilities and/or with a dislike for education. I find that my teaching style is interesting to this particular type of student. I acknowledge the childs dismay in learning and I allow them to help me to adjust the teaching material to a teaching style that best suits the childs learning style. Science and english are subjects that many children don't enjoy. I make it much easier for them to learn the subject and then we expound thier knowledge from there.

From my own experiences as a student I have come to the opinion that the most valuable educational accomplishment one can achieve is to “learn how to learn”. This seems to be a state of mind, an epiphany if you will, which hopefully will be realized at some point in the course of an individual’s intellectual development.
