In high school, I was the typical overachiever. I played varsity baseball, led many school organizations, and was at the top of my class. School, especially math subjects, came easy to me, but that is not the case with everyone. Therefore, I wanted to find a way to help students in these areas. During sophomore year, I was approached by high school administration to tutor students, on a one-on-one basis after school, on math subjects. It was an amazing opportunity because only four students out of the entire student body were picked for this highly-selective position. A commercial banker by trade, I currently teach two (2) classes on financial literacy skills to legal immigrant refugees from India, Burma, and Cuba. This volunteer work is offered through the Catholic Charities arm of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. I started teaching these classes roughly six (6) months ago on a volunteer basis, and the classes have been very well received thus far.
