Biology is one of my top subjects!

I have given lectures about basics of microbiology and also virology on particular. I have taught post graduates during my Ph.D and explain everything in detail even now to my colleagues. Originally I am from Albania. I graduated from Molecular Biology and Genetics department of the prestigious Bosphorus University in Istanbul, Turkey. Established in 1863, formerly known as Robert College, it was the first American Educational Institution outside the borders of USA. Later I worked for two years at the Natural History Museum in London, UK. After that, for one year I was a researcher at the Molecular Systematics laboratory at Integrative Biology Department in Brigham Young University, in Provo, UT. A Little Bit About Me...

I try my best to make the student figure things out on their own, by giving simple guiding questions or comments. I do not like to simply do the problems for them, as I find most people do not learn well this way. I am patient and empathetic, and I understand what it is like to approach a problem from the position of a student who is confused or unsure. Although my degree is in music education, most of my teaching was done in Christian schools. I have taught math (through Algebra II), English, grammar, history, and science. I would be proficient in any math through Algebra I and any English, grammar or history through grades 12. I have taught grades 3-12.
I have high expectations of students, but I adjust my "teaching style" to the student. For the struggling student, I usually begin at a level that they can easily perform. From that platform, we progress step-by-step until we find the area of difficulty and why it is there. When we master that, we move on. There are a variety of techniques to use, depending on the problem and the student, but the general expectation is that they can do it.
