I recently graduated from Texas A&M University earning a BS in biology with a 3.75 GPA. In order to effectively teach, I feel it is important to recognize and understand each student's metacognitive learning style. Once that is understood the material can be introduced to them in a way that they can perceive. I also feel that it is important to empower students to have the confidence to think for themselves and understand their own ability to make connections about the material. Therefore, when I teach, I think it is important to constantly ask the students questions and direct them towards the answers as opposed to feeding them information that they memorize.
